Tomorrow’s Technology, Happening Today: NTXIA Q2 Immersive Innovation Series Recap
The 2025 North Texas Immersive Innovation Series is well underway! Hosted by NTXIA and Frisco Economic Development Corporation, NTXIA’s Q2 Immersive Innovation event was one to remember. This event was held at Origin Innovation Hub, a new sports technology and innovation center conceptualized by Frisco EDC and Plug and Play as a public-private partnership. The day was full of networking, hands-on learning, live demonstrations of the latest robotics, smart cities, and virtual technologies, and of course, tours of Origin Innovation Hub.
Origin Innovation Hub
The July 11th event began with a warm welcome and introduction to Origin Innovation Hub by Jeremiah Anderson, Director of Tech Attraction at Frisco EDC. Here, Jeremiah shared the innovation hub’s ‘origin’ story and vision to create an open collaboration space for residents to scale their businesses and to create a networking space to connect startups with venture capitalists and corporations. This event served as a warm welcome and kickoff for Origin Innovation Hub, as the 6,000 square foot innovation hub opened to the public just a few weeks earlier on May 19, 2025. Located at the Baylor Scott & White Health Sports Therapy & Research Building in The Star, a 91-acre campus that is known for being the practice facility for the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, tours of the 6,000 square-foot innovation space were a popular part of the event. Thank you to Frisco EDC and Plug and Play for welcoming us for this incredible event.
Demonstrations & Hands-On Learning
Once tours of the innovation space wrapped up, the group jumped into live demonstrations from partners WhiteGloveAI, Unitree Robotics, and AMSYS.
WhiteGloveAI, a company pioneering AI-driven transformations to elevate enterprise operations with interactive solutions, provided a live AI Avatar demo designed specifically for Plug and Play Frisco. The demonstration highlighted how natural voice, AI reasoning, and context-aware interactions with Avatars are continuing to develop and have multiple applications for public and private organizations.
Following the Avatar demonstration, Drones Plus Robotics shared its Unitree Robotics quadrupedal robotic dog and a wheeled robotic unit used by first responders. While Unitree Robotics is known for its creation of high-performance civilian-safe robots, Drones Plus Robotics solutions combine cutting-edge robotics with advanced aerial platforms for industrial, search and service applications with the goal of offering full service solutions for automation, safety, and efficiency. Drones Plus Robotics also announced Frisco would have a bi-pedal humanoid version of their robotics on-site by the end of the month!
AMSYS Innovative Solutions is a global pioneer in AI and cyber security and wrapped up the demonstrations with two solutions: AI Avatar and global crowd management. AMSYS took this one step further with a hands-on example of a Frisco crowd management use case, making this solution relatable for local municipalities, corporations, and organizations.
Building Connections & Deep Dive Discussions
With attendees across both public and private partners, corporations, and startups, the day was a huge networking success. Once demonstrations wrapped up, attendees were encouraged to engage with each technology and connect with the companies and individuals who presented. The event not only helped educate NTXIA members about the new Origin Innovation Hub, but also made important connections across the community that will lead to supporting startups in Frisco and public and private partners across North Texas.
Up Next: North Texas Fleet Electrification Summit: Friday, October 24th!
NTXIA’s Immersive Innovation Series continues with the North Texas Fleet Electrification Summit to be on October 24. Co-hosted by NTXIA and Highland Electric Fleets, this Immersive Innovation Event will be at the International Bowling Museum & Hall of Fame in Arlington. Focused on sharing best practices and new developments in fleet electrification to maximize funding opportunities, upgrade fleets with battery-electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, reduce maintenance costs, and increase vehicle uptime, NTXIA is continuing to encourage continual growth and learning in the community across these technologies. This event will even include hands-on test drives of the Highland Electric Vehicles. After the program, stick around for a bowling social hour at the museum’s mini duckpin lanes to continue networking.
