As North Texas emerges as one of the nation's most significant data center markets, communities are being asked to make consequential decisions quickly — often without the context, the vocabulary, or the relationships to navigate them well. Companies are arriving with genuine economic value to offer and sometimes without the community engagement skills to offer it effectively. And public conversations are frequently generating more heat than light.

NTXIA developed this resource because we believe two things can be true at once: data centers bring real costs and real benefits, and communities deserve the information, the access, and the standing to shape outcomes — not simply receive them. This is not a document that positions data centers as villains or as saviors. It is a resource for anyone trying to think clearly about a complex issue.
